Is theft a family tradition of U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra?

By Brad Reese on Mon, 03/23/09 - 2:51am.

According to a court case record of the Maryland District Court for Montgomery County - Criminal System, on May 7, 1996, Kavita Kundra the older sister (by 9 months) of U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra was criminally charged with Theft: Less $300 Value.

However, most remarkably and quite incredibly astonishingly in the mind of yours truly, just a mere 38 days later on June 14, 1996, yet another court case record reveals that Kavita's brother, U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra, was also criminally charged with Theft: Less $300 Value.

Both court case records list the same home address, which according to real estate website Zillow.com is a comfortable looking 2.5 bath, 2,240SF home located near the end of a Gaithersburg, Maryland cul-de-sac, a home that in today's depressed real estate market is valued at $456K.

Kavita Kundra was 22 years old at the time of her criminal charge, while her brother U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra was 21 years old at the time of his criminal charge.

The only logical explanation that I can think of as to why U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra would be charged with criminal theft (Vivek Kundra later pled guilty) just a mere 38 days after his older sister was charged with criminal theft (Kavita Kundra's case was dropped), would be that he theoretically might have successfully committed other thefts and somehow thought that he would never get caught or arrested himself.

Keep in mind, I have no evidence of other thefts by Vivek Kundra -- and this is pure speculation on my part.

Careful there Brad...

You are assuming facts not in evidence: Vivek's citation coming 38 days after Kavita's does not mean his infraction occured after her citation was issued -- it could have been well before, up to what the statute of limitations allows. More facts are needed to support your conclusion.

Also, your musing that "he had been successfully committing other thefts" may meet the definition of libel.

Impulsiveness caused by living on Impulse Lane

0

Perhaps Vivek Kundra and his older sister (by 9 months) Kavita Kundra can blame "Impulsiveness" caused by living in that "demonic house" located at 18932 Impulse Lane!

Seriously, if a blogger can't muse about the "facts," why blog?

I'm all for bloggers having a personal opinion and if U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra is pushing government transparency as his core competency skill, surely, he won't object to his criminal theft charge court case record, nor the criminal theft charge court case record of his older sister from being viewed.

According to your statement:

You are assuming facts not in evidence: Vivek's citation coming 38 days after Kavita's does not mean his infraction occured after her citation was issued -- it could have been well before, up to what the statute of limitations allows. More facts are needed to support your conclusion.

Yours truly disagrees, why?

Well, according to the District Court for Montgomery County - Criminal System, the way the court has "CIT Issued," it is most certainly numerically ordered:

DOCI 05/14/1996 CIT ISSUED 960507 - Kavita Kundra

DOCI 06/25/1996 CIT ISSUED 960614 - Vivek Kundra

Kavita Kundra's criminal theft charge citation is numerically ordered 107 citations before Vivek Kundra's criminal theft charge citation.

It certainly appears to me that Kavita's criminal theft charge came before Vivek's criminal theft charge!

However, am glad you disagree and appreciate your comment.

Sincerely,

Just the facts, ma'am

There is no doubt that Vivek's citation was issued after Kavita's was. What is in question is when Vivek's infraction, for which he was cited and fined, actually occurred. One premise of your story is that Vivek is so arrogant that he stole after his sister had already been caught. His citation could have been issued for a theft that occurred days, weeks, or even months before his sister was cited. Sometimes it takes a while to discover a crime and gather enough evidence to make an arrest (or issue a citation for something as trivial as this case).

Event History Information

0

According to the Event History Information of the court case records for U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra and his older sister (by 9 months) Kavita Kundra, it is very, very clear that Vivek Kundra received his criminal theft charge citation after his sister Kavita Kundra's criminal theft charge citation.

If you have facts or evidence that you can show disproves the Event History Information of the court case records, go for it, let's see it!

Sincerely,

Are you hard of reading?

0

You say "it is very, very clear that Vivek Kundra received his criminal theft charge citation after his sister Kavita Kundra's criminal theft charge citation". I have never questioned that cronology.

What I keep asking is how do you know that his citation was for a crime that was committed after her citation was issued? The records displayed show when the citations were issued, not when the crimes were committed. The dates of the crimes being committed would be in the citations themselves. You are assuming the citations were issued on or about the same time the crimes were committed -- in all likelyhood this is true. However, there are no facts given to support this, and this assumption was the basis of your slam against Vivek (i.e., he arrogantly committed crimes after his sister was already cited, believing himself too smart to be caught).

BTW, why does the petty theft by a 21 year old rate a Brad Reese hatchet-job? You usually fry bigger fish.

Court Records

Glad that you consider these court case records as being non factual.

To prove your point, please point us to those records that you consider to be factual in these court cases.

Thank you,

Store Salesperson Question

0

Perhaps when U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra walks into a store and the store salesperson asks him:

"Can I help you?"

Could it be possible that U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra simply replys:

"No, I'm just shoplifting."

However, keep in mind that yours truly has absolutely no evidence of how U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra replys to store clerk questions, and this is mere speculation on my part.
