DIDX Provides Wholesale Platform for DID Numbers

By Matthew Nickasch on Sun, 05/31/09 - 9:22pm.

DIDs, or Direct Inward Dials, are a critically-important resource for organizations that need visible methods of communication from the outside world. Only a few years ago, the acquisition and provisioning of these numbers was a difficult and cumbersome process.

With the advent of Voice Over IP services, this process has become increasingly simplistic, allowing individuals and organizations alike to quickly provision and direct DIDs to/from locations around the world. Now, the process of "trading" such resources has become possible through a unique service called DIDXchange.

Dubbed the "Ebay for DID", DIDX is a revolutionary market for wholesale customers. DIDX is for wholesale VOIP service providers (LEC's, CLEC's and IXC's) eager to buy, sell, and trade their available DID numbering plan to others. Better yet, the service is available without a membership fee, and costs are only incurred when transactions (buying and selling of DIDs) occurs.

Numbers traded on the DIDX platform are active immediately, eliminating the lengthy wait that normally occurs when such resources are transferred between owners.

DIDX is an example of a service that has evolved out of the innovation that surrounds the evolution of the modern world of VoIP. The need for a DID trading market such as DIDX was imminent to allow immediate and bulk allocation of numbers.
