Google Voicemail to text, will this bring back telemarketers?

A new way to get your company message to customers, voicemail to text on the phone.

Talking with a director for a small marketing company on Sunday he mentioned that they are hiring again. When I asked him why he said it is due to Google Voice. The application that allows the customers to have voicemail changed to text and then displayed on the web or phone, it has telemarketers people all happy. They had many people blocking or turning off texting to stop marketing from companies for a while, now they can get back to phone calls.

I can see his point, Google Voice might be the best thing for telemarketers since the wireless headsets. If a telemarketer calls a number and do not get anyone to answer they can leave a voice mail. Now if you are a Google Voice user and have your voicemails changed to text for your inbox or phone, you will see many more telemarketing calls.  But it also works the other way for users, if you don't know the caller you just don't pick the phone up and let it go to voice mail. Then you can just delete the voicemail when you see it is a telemarketer. Allot more easier than having to listen to each voice mail then deleting.

So with the ball rolling both ways, do you think the users or the telemarketers got the better end of the deal with Google Voice? Do you think this could help your business in marketing to customers?
