Although the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest ends this Sunday, the blues being sung by its various artists this Friday, Saturday and Sunday won't be the only blues being sung.
Why?
Because newly laid off Cisco employees in San Jose and Research Triangle Park, will also be singing the blues this weekend.
However, after taking a weekend of obligatory self-pity, I look forward to Cisco's former employees coming back on Monday, newly reinvigorated and totally motivated to show Cisco it made a foolish mistake in terminating your services.
As inspiration and motivation, I highly recommend that you read the story of Arthur Blank.
And why would you want to do that?
Well, because Blank too was fired by his employer, home improvement retail chain Handy Dan, and that pissed him off so much that he went out and cofounded a competing home improvement retail chain called Home Depot (guess which retail chain is no longer in business).
Looking forward to writing future Network World stories about you and your success after Cisco!
