As I chatted up Yankee Group analyst Marina Amoroso about her interesting report on cell phone usage among 8-to-12-year-olds, I found myself absolutely dying to ask her a personal question. The reason for my curiosity was that she seemed so matter of fact about the phenomenon, in addition to being enthusiastic, articulate and insightful.
Not that I intended to include her answer in my 'Net Buzz column, mind you, but I just had to know: "Pardon me for asking a personal question," I said, "but do you have children?"
I knew the answer before she spoke … and so do most of you.
Few if any parents would be matter of fact about an 8-year-old lugging a cell phone.
