I believe that the vendor who wins over the hearts and minds of Cisco's 1 million certified individuals will eventually become victorious in networking, and it certainly appears Juniper Networks concurs.
This week Juniper launched a new streamlined Fast Track web portal to make it even easier for Cisco certified individuals to navigate the JUNOS certification process.
According to Juniper, anyone who passes the pre-assessment test, gets a voucher for 100% off a JUNOS certification exam. Network World readers may recall that 2 months ago I blogged Juniper was offering 50% off coupons for its certification exam at Prometric centers.
Well, Juniper is now automatically increasing the value of its former 50% off vouchers to 100% off and extending its offer to the end of 2009.

What's your take, is Juniper striking at the heart of Cisco?

junos fasttrack training material
I looked at the JUNOS fasttrack training material. At first it was comical, then it got lame real fast. Every other sentence was "This is better than CISCO..." , "This is better than CISCO..." It seems like they are more concerned with comparing themselves with CISCO than their product. Anyway, if the constant comparing with CISCO was left out it would be decent material to check out.
FastTrack not enough
I looked through some of the FastTrack material, then I looked at the exam objections. The FastTrack is a joke; it's just to whet your appetite, and, as the last comment indicated, convince you it's better than Cisco. If you really want to pass the exam, however, you better buy a book or figure out something else to augment what they offer.
That is "exam objectives"
That is "exam objectives" not "exam objections." Freudian slip.
Summer School might be the answer
Hey,
Just read your comment and wanted to let you know about a series of live and/or archived training we are running to provide people with just the background knowledge you are talking about. The live classes are full at the moment, but you can watch the archived sessions at http://junos.juniper.net/routing/july and http://juos.juniper.net/switching july. You can also access live chat sessions and remote labs to practice what you learn.
hope this helps
Sarah

Funny... I found the material provided was plenty adequate. They even have several certification books for free on the site. I had no trouble at all when I passed the Juniper certification exam.
Maybe you didn't look close enough...

I'm enrolled in the Switching Summer School. It's an online training class. You get live video session with Juniper instructors, you can chat and ask questions and you also receive rack time for practice on real equipments.
The exam is free, so you just have to learn, they are giving you all the tools for free.
They even sent me a free book "JunOS for Dummies" and a T-shirt, i live in Romania so they mailed me this stuff. I hope the T-shirt has the right size for me, i would like to wear it at my CCNP classes at the Cisco Academy :D.
They don't have the same amount of learning material as Cisco does, but they are trying to improve in this area.
It doesn't mean i'll quit learning Cisco, but it's nice to have options.
Too busy working on CCIE to care
Yawn
I don't think
Personally, I don't think Juniper is targeting Cisco certified individuals who are too busy to care.
Sincerely,

These are comments are baffling.
I am working my way through the AJRE and switching PDFs now. They are as technical and substantive as any Cisco training. I couldn't recommend it enough.
Its free, so if you are on the fence about, TRY IT. The PDFs for the AJRE and switching classes are excellent.
JUNOS really is competitive, feasible alternative to IOS.
