Cisco and Pelco, a Schneider Electric company, have entered into a strategic partnership to pursue joint development of high-definition, IP-based video security cameras. Pelco's Sarix imaging technology will be melded with Cisco's IP expertise to make a co-branded product to be sold through Cisco channel partners.
The cameras are expected at the end of this year.
Pelco will initially supply Cisco with HD imaging technology to upgrade Cisco's existing camera line and surveillance systems. The co-branded cameras will feature full frame rate video, H.264 compression, low light compensation, embedded analytics and auto focus.
