Implications of using your Google ID to log in elsewhere

On the downside, Google will be able to see which sites you sign in to at what particular moment in time. That fits nicely with Google's business model of generating ad revenue from "event" date of their users, but some users may be reluctant to have their online behavior tracked even more. Also, Google will be able to log in as you into all of your accounts where you sign in using your Google ID; even if you trust Google's employees to not abuse this capability, can they make their service secure against hackers who seek to abuse the same capability?
