Battle of the Brains

By Alpha Doggs on Tue, 04/04/06 - 4:29pm.

In what organizers have dubbed "The Battle of the Brains," 83 teams of students from around the world will face off next week in San Antonio to show off their programming skills. The 30th annual International Collegiate Programming Contest, organized by the Association for Computing Machinery and sponsored by IBM, will challenge students to complete eight or more real-world computing problems in five hours. Examples of problems might include determining the best travel routes and configuring a cell phone network. Technologies such as Java and Linux will be among those used to solve the problems. Scholarships and other awards are up for grabs. For more info on the contest, visit here.
