Sharper Image to sell video eyewear

By Keith Shaw on Wed, 05/03/06 - 11:29am.

Watch a video, look cool in the process.Kopin Corp. said today that The Sharper Image will start marketing Icuiti's DV920 Video Eyewear device (powered by Kopin microdisplays).

The DV920 Video Eyewear enables a "big-screen viewing experience that fits in a pocket or purse," eliminating the need for watching videos on a tiny screen. The battery-operated DV920 can connect to a mobile phone, portable DVD player, video iPod and other video devices to help enhance the viewing size by letting users watch the video through the eyewear.

The device uses two CyberDisplay VGA full-color microdisplays with 640 by 480 pixel resolution. The 3.5-oz. device will be available initially at 50 of The Sharper Image's largest retail stores as well as its Web site. More details on the DV920 is available at the Video Eyewear Web site.
