Special Cisco Live Contest - Hottest Booth Girl
And the Winner is.....
By michaeljmorris on Thu, 07/01/10 - 6:36pm.For my last blog from Cisco Live this year, I am happy to run our traditional Hottest Booth Girl Contest. As any attendee will admit, extremely good looking young women are a sure-fire way to get male network geeks to listen to your 60 second speech about how your software tool will revolutionize a network.
Our past winner went to Qumu in 2008 for bringing us Gigi. (Sadly, there was no contest in 2009 given my lack of attendance that year).
This year's conference was definitely the year of the duets. Three of the five teams were companion sets of girls, definitely stretching the rules of the contest, which we are fine with BTW. (rules? there are rules to this contest? Please!).
Anyways, here's the rundown.
Contestants #1 from Computer Associates - a pair of very pretty girls in nice boots:
Contestant #2 from NetOptics - with the sailor theme (BTW, also part of a duet, but I failed to get the other girl in the picture):
Contestants #3 from Lancope - the ninjas (definitely a conciliation prize for creativity) :-)
Contestant #4 from Cloupia - a dark horse candidate from the first row of the WoS:
But, based on the votes from the expert panel of judges (ok, just the geeks on my team) the winner of this year's Hottest Booth Girl Contest goes to Bluecat Networks for the race car girls:
These ladies were definitely too tall for me (not that that matters at all!). :-)
Congrats to Bluecat Networks! I got scanned 3 or 4 times.

Michael Morris is a communications engineering manager at a $3-billion high-tech company. His background is in enterprise WANs working with telcos and developing large-scale routing designs. He has worked on networks at government and corporate organizations, including networks at two Fortune 10 companies. In his current role, he leads a team of 10 engineers responsible for large-scale IT networking projects and architectural standards for data networks, storage area networks, IP telephony, contact centers, and security. Michael is CCIE #11733 and recently became one of the first three Cisco Certified Design Experts (CCDE) ever (#20080002). He has 11 years experience in networking and communications, including four years as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He has a bachelor's degree in MIS from the University at Buffalo and is working on his MBA from NC State University. In 2008, he was awarded the Network Professional Association (NPA) Professional Excellence and Innovation Award for his work on network architecture, templates and enterprise MPLS design.
