So I'm on a summer-camp kick … it's summer.
Started last week with this painful anecdote from my childhood.
Today there's more talk about camp -- this of the decidedly serious variety -- in the letters-to-the-editor section of the New York Times. If you subscribe to TimesSelect you also can read the guest column by Judith Warner that sparked the newspaper's discussion, as well as even more parental opining on Warner's blog.
There's even a technology angle to all of this, believe it or not, namely that camps are providing too much of it. Non-stop e-mail and the use of Web cams are making sleepover camps much less of a getaway experience than those of us who grew up pre-Internet may remember.
