By Keith Shaw on Wed, 08/09/06 - 4:00pm.

802.11g SDIO card from SocketSocket Communications this week announced its Go Wi-Fi! P300 card, an SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) card that provides 802.11g wireless LAN connectivity for mobile devices running Windows Mobile 2003, 2003SE or Windows Mobile 5.0. The card is now available for $99 through Socket's distribution channels, and also includes Wi-Fi Companion connectivity and management software.

The 802.11g connectivity offers five times the speeds of 802.11b cards, Socket says, letting users download e-mail or Web surf more efficiently. Other features include Windows CE 4.2/5.0 drivers for several processor types; 802.1x enterprise security support; and support for security protocols such as WPA, WPA-PSK, and 40- and 128-bit WEP. A list of devices supported by the new card is available at this Socket Web site.
