Top 10 confusing tech buzzwords

dictionary.jpgThe Global Language Monitor has released its list of the "Top 10 Most Confusing (yet widely used) High Tech Buzzwords".

The top five: HTTP, VoIP, megapixel, plasma and robust. The top two we can see, but we would think - given the popularity of digital photography - most would know what "megapixel" is. Same for plasma, as you rarely hear it without "TV" these days.

But here's our favorite observation: "VoIP (pronounced voip rhyming with Detroit)..."

Since when does "VoIP" rhyme with "Detroit"? Maybe if it were "Detroip", but otherwise, um, no.
