Nine new apps that show off the power of Google Wave

Because Wave uses a popular IM protocol, a tsunami of developers are already working on add-on apps.

Invitations to Google Wave were sent to 10,000 people this week and the hype machine has begun. Some are calling Google Wave revolutionary. Others aren't going so far, but do say that its integrated approach to social networking and business communications will be at least helpful. It's not the first app to tackle this.

Will Google Wave make the network just dumb plumbing?

When news of Google Wave first bubbled to the surface in May, it created a lot of buzz, a little hype and has since ebbed out of the public eye. Earlier this month, Google began letting some of its Apps users test-drive Wave.

Palm's takes next steps with webOS, Mojo SDK

Palm has taken its next steps to re-invent itself via webOS, which will appear first in the upcoming Palm Pre.

The release date and pricing for the Pre is still unannounced. Both Palm and Sprint are betting big that the new smartphone and its underlying OS platform will be a hit.
