Fraud is rampant in the industry; more should be done to penalize violators

This activity seemed to be the "norm" rather than the exception. Dig into what was being done at Centillium Technologies/Communications, Inc. of Fremont, CA. prior to going public and the first year following the IPO. There were some sweet deals being made with stock options & money on paper. Arthur Anderson LLP was involved with Centillium also. Internal fraudulent manipulation of employees was utilized to control exercise of stock options. Bottom-line, Centilliums execs got away with millions while many employees were cut short! Investigate Centillium's SEC practices!

Should Cisco use external components for its switches?

Cisco is in an interesting dilemma regarding the processors at the heart of its gear, writes Andrew Schmitt in Seeking Alpha. He says Cisco is dogged in its determination to pursue ASICs for the majority of its systems, rather than buy silicon from external suppliers such as Broadcom and risk opening its products to be copied.

He writes:

Cisco can afford to fund their own ASICs because of the premium prices they charge. It is generally believed that buying standard silicon on the open market would be a cheaper solution for Cisco, but would open the risk that their products are cloned by vendors such as Huawei.

OK, we do all kinds of things and if it turns out we don't like the outcome...blame someone. Yes friends, this is America, or is it? Tell this guy to simply go away.
