Microsoft, Limelight deal revealed

The two also intend to jointly develop acceleration technologies, according to the companies. Limelight is a Web caching/streaming/acceleration service based in Tempe, Ariz., that competes with Akamai. The company said it will cross-license technology with Microsoft. Details were scarce but a quote from Limelight’s CEO from Bloomberg News says that the on-demand video will be the focus. Read more
