Using blogs internally - be careful
By Adam Gaffin, NetworkWorld.com, 03/29/05
Dennis Hamilton writes about running a Weblog on the intranet. I think he's trying to be positive about the good a blog can do, but his article highlights an endless minefield of internal political issues that could easily make one just say "forget it." Even something positive, like trying to highlight company contract wins, gets him into trouble:
A few months ago, I called one of our project managers to obtain correct information about one of his new projects. He yelled, “I’m not going to give it to you because I never read your "bleeping" stuff and that kind of "bleep" is a waste of time. My people in my department are spending too much "bleeping" time reading this "bleep" when they should be working!!!”
