The Register reports on a new Greek law:
The government of Greece is making heroic efforts to humiliate the nation in front of the entire world, by banning all electronic games. That's right; something as innocent as playing computer chess on your laptop in a hotel lobby is now a crime with penalties of up to three months in stir and a fine of 10,000 euros. The real goal is to ban Internet gambling, but apparently, Greek lawmakers couldn't figure out how to limit themselves to that and so banned everything fun. Oh, well, there's always the font effects in Word and Excel... Back to Compendium
Come to Romania and play anything you want, for cheap in hundreds of Internet Cafes!
We'd be happy to take your money :)
The keyword is passive resistance. Just ignore the law and keep reasonably low-profile.
They can't go home to home and search personal computers for hidden games. Nor they can effectively do anything with new downloadable games on cellular phones.
An unenforceable law is an irrelevant law.
Greeks are wonderful people. But their politicians, like most of them, regardless country, are stupid assholes. Passive resistance is not enough. They should be just fucked :-)).
Kalistera Ellada !
What an idiotic nation. The best thing that happened was leaving that country for good.

the situation is slitly different...many shops in greece and mainly athens and salonica, are supposed to have computer games where u pay a little coin and then play untill u loose, ok ? many owner had a system installed making the games into cazino style games which is illegal ,,,
if a government guy goes in to check, they had remote control to switch the gamble back to an innovent game, the law in greece forbids the games in shops not games !!!!!
