Network World Fusion 06/30/03

OK, so Matt Croydon wants to see just how much software he can cram into his Nokia 3650 phone. That's fine. But he's set up a a Web page to chronicle it all (and not just any Web page, but a wiki page).

His installed software to date: Wireless IRC, miniGPS 1.03, Screen Taker 1.01 ("crucial for taking screenshots"), Opera for Series 60, a J2ME Jabber client, Vexed ("S60 port of a classic puzzle game"), J2ME VNC: A VNC app for J2ME, and, of course, an FTP client.

Alas, the J2ME version of Pacman wouldn't install.

Talking about cramming, have you seen the PC in the Millenium Falcon? They had an article about it on The Register. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/54/31519.html

There is another J2ME VNC client available. It is innoDesktop (http://www.innomover.com/en/products/innodesktop/).

It supports major Java phones (Nokia, Motorola, etc) and has commercial technical support.
