I've been involved with Python projects for data mining, as glue-ware, and for utility programming for several years. About two years ago we started developing Zope intranets for customers but Plone has taken those labor-intensive efforts and replaced them with a framework that is highly functional right out of the box. More importantly, we can get under the hood and work at the Zope or Python level to do whatever the customer requires. Very flexible but there is a learning curve. Plone scales incredibly well with Archetypes we can quickly churn out low-cost, high-value Web portals.
