WS-Security

A Web-services specification to secure and authenticate SOAP communications.

Advertisement:

The draft specification, written by IBM, Microsoft and VeriSign, describes how to attach security tokens (such as Kerberos tickets or X.509 certificates) to SOAP messages.

It is based on the World Wide Web Consortium's XML Encryption and XML Signature standards.
