CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture)
A standardized blueprint worked out by the Object Management Group defining how application objects and ORBs can cooperate to deliver services or perform processes independent of platform, network or location.
In CORBA, ORBs can communicate across a TCP/IP network via IIOP.
