Metropolitan access vendor Vina Technologies last week announced it has expanded its OEM relationship with Lucent. Lucent
will resell Vina's eLink products, which integrate voice, data and Internet services over one broadband line for small and
midsized businesses. Lucent will sell the line under the name ConnectReach 200 series. Lucent's ConnectReach network access
products have been based on Vina's Integrator 300 integrated access devices. The eLink/"ConnectReach 200 series IADs support
up to 24 voice ports, a LAN connection and a single broadband connection.
The Optical Internetworking Forum last week announced that it has elected a new board of directors for 2002-2003. Returning
board member Joe Berthold, vice president of network architecture at Ciena was named president. Newly elected to the board
of directors are Olga Aparicio, principal engineer in the strategic network planning group at Cable & Wireless, and Doug Zuckerman,
senior scientist at Telcordia. Re-elected board members include Tom Palkert, systems architect manager at AMCC; John McDonough,
technology standards manager at Cisco, named vice president; Gerry Baranano, vice president of sales at Nortel renamed vice
president of marketing; and Tom Afferton, division manager at AT&T Labs, who continues as OIF's treasurer and secretary.
