Qwest this week unveiled a service for traveling business people that enables secure access to their corporate networks.
Qwest Remote Access enables mobile employees to connect to their corporate VPN using Qwest's global dial network, high-speed broadband and Wi-Fi services. Qwest Remote Access also includes "single-step" client software and a management portal allowing customers to govern which users may access their network.
With the management portal, customers can enforce user access rights and ensure that remote employees have the latest anti-virus software or personal firewall applications, Qwest says.
Qwest Remote Access costs $5 to $7 per subscriber for larger subscriber bases. For smaller bases, the range is $10 to $20. Wi-Fi access and international dial are sold on an additional metered/hourly basis.
The service is available now.
