XO Communications this week said it is expanding its business VoIP service to Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.

The company's XOptions Flex service combines unlimited local and long distance calling, dedicated Internet access up to 3M bit/sec, and Web hosting for a flat monthly price. The service supports dynamic bandwidth allocation, voice virtual private networking, and an administrative Web portal.

In addition to Minneapolis-St. Paul, XOptions Flex is available in 46 other metropolitan areas in the U.S.  XO says it has signed up 1,000 customers since rolling out the service three months ago.

Earlier this month, XO said it carried more than 1.6 billion minutes of VoIP traffic across its national IP network in the second quarter of 2005.

XOptions Flex includes more than 20 standard voice features for each phone line, including call forward, three-way calling, and voice mail.
