Keynote and Q&A: Moderated by John Gallant & Paul Desmond:
“Fear & Greed: The Risks & Rewards of IPv6”
with special speaker Fred Wettling

All Federal government agency networks must support IPv6, the next-generation Internet Protocol, by the end of June, 2008. That deadline will likely have a trickle-down effect, prompting government contractors and others to likewise upgrade. But few companies have any real-world experience with IPv6 and fully understand what such an upgrade entails. Bechtel Corp., however, is one of them. The engineering and construction giant began testing the protocol in 2005 and is now well on its way toward implementation company wide by the end of 2008. In his keynote address, Fred Wettling will offer his unique perspective on IPv6, which he considers to be the technology foundation for the future of collaboration. Wettling will offer pragmatic tips for implementing the protocol, explain the important role it plays in helping Bechtel set up networks faster at its myriad job sites, and offer insights on the various ways it simplifies network operations. He’ll also point out the potential stumbling blocks and explain why virtually no enterprise can afford to ignore IPv6.
