Lexmark P707 Photo Printer

Lexmark P707 Photo Printer

Lexmark

Price: $99.99
Rating: 3
Ease of use: Mainstream customers

Review:
If you have a brand new digital printer but are still printing your photos on a 'regular' inkjet printer, you may want to check out this Lexmark printer. The P707 is a photo printer (still inkjet) that prints color photos in resolutions up to 4,800 dpi.

The printer was relatively easy to set up, we connected it to our computer with a USB cable after a few attempts. The first attempt failed when the computer failed to recognize the USB cable connection, but after we re-installed everything again it worked just fine (bottom line, when in doubt, re-install).

The greatest thing about the printer was not necessarily the printer itself, but the great Lexmark Photo Center software that comes with the printer. The software let us take the photos we had acquired and print them out in a variety of different formats, including borderless photos. You can basically make 'contact sheets' by printing up 80 1-inch by 1-inch photos on a single page -- pretty impressive if you ask me.

You can also use the printer as a regular inkjet printer for your documents, but that seems like such a waste of the ink. For under $100, this is a good value for printing up your photos that you take with a digital camera.
