Ease of use: So Easy, Grandma can use
Review:
The Freecom FS-1 Combo Drive was installed in less time than it took to take it out of the box. Although it shipped with a variable power supply designed for international use with exchangeable plugs, all it required was to be connected to the USB 2.0 port (compatible with USB 1.1).
Both the PowerDVD and the Easy CD Creator software installed very quickly and were ready to be used in less than five minutes. I was familiar with both pieces of software for this device, as they are the applications I most commonly use with other DVD/CD-R devices, and they worked seamlessly with this device. The size, setup time, and ease of use of this device were by far some of the best on the market. This drive is fast, compact, functional and overall a great purchase for a traveling user (especially if you have an ultraportable that doesn't come with an optical drive) or any user who simply wants a fast USB DVD/CD-R. The drive is 24x10x24x8 and very easy to use. The only thing I'd like more would be if it was free, and possibly burned DVDs as well, but Freecom offers other devices for that, check out the FX series on their Web site.
