Aerielink 802.11g Wireless AP Router AWR03101

Soyo Group

Price: $165.00
Rating: 4
Ease of use: Mainstream customers

Review:
The Aerielink Wireless AP Router was very quick and easy to set up, for basic as well as advanced features. The access point ships with a default SSID, so there is no need to worry about crossover cables or even connecting via Ethernet for the initial configuration, which makes things a bit user-friendlier.

The Web-based GUI application doesn't give the impression that it has all the features you may be looking for. But hidden beneath the yellow and green color scheme the interface contains most everything you could ask for in a router, wireless AP, switch, and SOHO firewall. Features include everything from MAC address restricting for association, as well as network restrictions to port forwarding, URL filtering, and a DMZ environment. The basic 802.11g security options were very simple to change and apply to the client stations, and the throughput peaked at the advertised 54M bit/sec. The routing functions were compatible with most of today's broadband options, and supported both static and DHCP addresses. It also includes its own stand-alone DHCP server, routing for multiple internal networks, VPN support, and port based routing that can be customized to any ports you may need to set up. SOYO put together a very solid product here that will meet most SOHO users' needs. If I was looking to create a new home office network, this would most certainly be a serious candidate to meet all of my needs.
