Apple Powerbook G4 12-inch laptop

Apple

Price: $1599.00
Rating: 5
Ease of use: Mainstream customers

Review:
The 12-inch PowerBook G4, with a 12-inch screen, is a sleek silver aluminum alloy laptop. It packs a lot of features into its diminutive size: at just 10.9 inches wide, 8.6 inches deep, 1.18 inches thin, it weighs a mere 4.6 pounds, making it a good choice for road warriors and frequent travelers who don't want to carry a lot of extra weight around.

It comes with built-in support for DVI, VGA, S-video and composite video signals, which, according to the company, lets you display multimedia projects on a TV by connecting your TV to the DVI port via the Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter [sold separately]. You can also edit your digital videos on this machine and play 3-D video games. And with the help of an AirPort Extreme Card, the new Mac is ready for wireless connectivity.

But for those of us with more mundane needs, it has good sound for listening to CDs and a great picture (enabled by its 1024-by-768-pixel resolution) for watching DVDs. Oh, and you can even work on it, too: its Velocity Engine processor processes data in 128-bit chunks, making it a super-speedy workhorse for graphics-intensive work or just word processing.
