Disney's Toontown Online
Walt DisneyPrice: $9.95 per month
Coolness score: Really fun game, has some lasting power
Review:
If you're looking for a game for your kids that's the anti-Grand Theft Auto, take a trip to Toontown.
This game is good for kids in the 7-14 age range and can be quite addictive. Players get to take on the persona of a variety of Disney-esque cartoon characters and then head out into the streets of Toontown to fight the evil robots known as Cogs. Of course, this is Disney, so Cogs can't take a joke and the way to get rid of them is to spray them with seltzer water, a pie in the face or trip them up with some other type of gag. When you beat a Cog, there's no decapitations or bloodletting, the Cog spins around a few times and `poof,' it's gone. The object of the game is to complete tasks that let you collect jellybeans. The more beans, the more gags in your arsenal. Since the game is interactive, you can join up with other Internet players to combine your jellybeans for greater effect.
