Compaq Computer Corp. yesterday entered the enterprise Gigabit network market with the announcement of two Gigabit Ethernet switches.
Compaq's 5411 and 5422 Enterprise Gigabit Ethernet switches include fault-tolerant features, redundant power support and port bonding with hunt groups, according to a statement from Compaq. The switches come with Compaq's networking management software to simplify installing and monitoring the switches, Compaq said.
The switches ship with Compaq Insight Manager, software designed to let users manage Compaq servers and workstations, the statement said.
Both switches are available now worldwide. The 5411 costs $18,040, and the 5422 costs $23,710, according to Compaq.
