ANS Communications Inc., an America Online subsidiary, today announced that it is guaranteeing availability and end-to-end connections to corporate customers of its Internet access service.
The Internet service provider's Service Level Agreements (SLA) promise 99.5 percent service availability and end-to-end connection coverage. The SLAs covers the ANS backbone network, local circuits, ANS router equipment installed by the company and other variables affecting service.
Company officials said that the SLAs promise customers the greatest connection coverage in the industry to date.
The agreements provide ANS customers with service fee credits, which give the user 24 free hours of service for each period of four continuous hours during which the connection is down.
The request for service-fee compensation needs to be submitted within two months of the interrupted service and does not apply to scheduled downtime or to maintenance.
The SLA provisions are available now to ANS customers.
