Compaq and Microsoft are working together to offer a Compaq ProLiant server pre-configured with Microsoft product-training seminars-incorporating streaming audio and video-for IT professionals.
The integrated server, called Windows Media Training Server, is designed to increase corporate training's reach and reduce its price, the two companies said in a release today. The product comes with 100 of the most popular Microsoft product-training seminars, including seminars for the Windows 2000 operating system, SQL Server 7.0 and Office 2000.
The server will let IT managers quickly implement training programs using streaming media to deliver information over a corporate network, according to the companies. The new server provides a way to introduce interactive media into organizations, the companies said, and additional content-from internal or external sources-can be added at any time.
The server is available immediately in North America for about $4,000.
