Novell and Compaq this week announced a partnership to help their mutual customers extend their networks for Internet e-business applications.
In a joint statement, the companies say they will collaborate to provide their customers with services, business development, training and support under Novell's Global Service Partner Program.
Network infrastructure software vendor Novell and computer vendor Compaq have collaborated previously. Novell's NetWare network operating system runs on more than 1.2 million Compaq servers. The new partnership is intended to give mutual customers greater services, including enhanced use of directory technology that will extend networks to the Internet.
"E-business is definitely the trend, and the more tools we can provide to customers to help them in their e-business endeavors, the better for them and for the industry," Novell spokesman Kevan Barney says.
