HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - Cybex Computer Products has launched a new keyboard, video, mouse (KVM) switch for corporate data centers that help monitor and operate multiple servers from a single location.

The AutoView 400 is a 1 u high (1.75 inches), rack-mountable switch that works with any Sun or PC server. In fact it supports any machine with a Universal Serial Bus or any serial device. KVM consolidate the keyboards, video displays and mice from all servers into a single console interface.

The AutoView is intended for use by two users and features dual keyboard, video displays and mice. The AutoView ships with a technology that allows users to be located over 500 feet away from the each other. A feature called "shared mode" lets two users view information on a single server at the same time and allows either user to have keyboard and mouse access to that server. It also contains an adapter used to connect it to other Cybex KVM switches.

Last month Cybex announced that it would merge with Apex, another vendor of KVM switches in a $2 billion agreement.

The AutoView 400 will start shipping in May for $1,150.
