Compaq's board of directors voted Thursday to name Michael Capellas, the company's chief executive officer and president, to an additional role – that of chairman of Compaq's board.
Capellas, 46, takes over from Benjamin Rosen, who at 67 has decided to retire from the board after 18 years. Rosen was awarded the honorary title of chairman emeritus for his services.
