E-commerce site developer and host Digital River plans to announce an agreement with Novell on Wednesday to support Novell's shopNovell e-commerce Web site.

Under terms of the deal, Provo, Utah-based Novell will outsource to Digital River the management of its shopNovell e-commerce portal where consumers, resellers, and computer manufacturers can gain access to Novell products and services.

Novell officials said the move to outsource shopNovell to Minneapolis, Minn.-based Digital River will bring cost savings as well as a means to grow the shopNovell portal offering.
