IBM is to use E2open's Commerce Collaboration software to sell a range of hardware and software in online public and private auctions.
Under the agreement, customers would be able to purchase new, discontinued and excess products directly from Big Blue through either a private or public auction. IBM will offer components such as internal and external hard-disk drives, semiconductors, LCD panels and tape subsystems.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
IBM is a founder of E2open, a Belmont, Calif., electronics industry-backed collaboration network. Other founders include Lucent, Seagate Technology, Nortel, LG Electronics Crosspoint Venture Partners and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
