Broadvision Wednesday announced it has launched a product that makes its e-commerce and portal Web applications accessible from mobile and non-PC devices.
With Broadvision Multi-Touchpoint Services, the company's Web-based applications can be accessed from wireless PDAs and Wireless Application Protocol devices, kiosks, automated teller machines and point of sale terminals. The software also includes voice-interaction features, with support for VoiceXML, Broadvision said in a statement.
The software can identify what sort of device is interacting with a Web site and adjust the format and navigational methods to suit. It can be extended to cover new devices using open standard tools, Broadvision said.
Broadvision Multi-Touchpoint Services works with the 6.0 versions of Broadvision's applications, including Broadvision Business Commerce, Retail Commerce and InfoExchange Portal. Supported platforms include HP-UX, IBM AIX, Microsoft Windows 2000 and Sun Solaris.
Broadvision said it is available immediately.
