Report: FBI to arrest Blaster writer on Friday

The FBI will arrest a teenager it has identified as the author of one of the variants of the W32.Blaster worm, according to a report published Friday.

The unnamed 18-year old, believed by the FBI and the Department of Justice to be the author of the Blaster-B variant, is expected to be arrested in Seattle later today, according to the online edition of The Wall Street Journal. Officals at the FBI and the Justice Department could not be reached for comment.

A news conference by the Seattle offices of the Justice Department and the FBI is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time Friday.
