Invio announced at Storage Networking World in Orlando this week graphic storage modeling software that assists storage administrators in the design and customization of processes such as storage provisioning or virtualization.

The Storage Practice Modeler uses a Visio-like interface that lets admins flowchart the steps necessary to set up storage provisioning and allows them to automate storage processes and management.

The Modeler comes with a library of reuseable images. Once a process has been flowcharted, it can be imported into Invio’s Storage Practice management for implementation.

Further, Invio enhanced its Storage Practice Manager, which lets users set policies for automating storage processes.

Storage Practice Modeler and Storage Practice Manager are part of Invio’s suite of process-oriented software, which also includes Active Practices and the Storage Practice Foundry.

Active Practices consists of out-of-the-box processes for provisioning, space optimization, cloning, replica management, backup and recovery.

Invio’s software starts at $40,000 and is available now.
