Sybase is losing its head of field operations, as top executive Michael Bealmear heads off for the CEO position at performance optimization software maker HyperRoll.
Bealmear worked at Sybase, in Dublin, Calif., for several years in the mid-1990s, serving as the company's worldwide services head before leaving in 1997 for a series of other industry jobs. In June 2000 he assumed the CEO position at services company Complete Business Solutions, which later changed its name to Covansys. Bealmear arrived at Covansys just in time for the tech-stock meltdown and left after sixteen months as the company's revenue and share price sagged.
Bealmear rejoined Sybase in 2002, where he has been serving as president of worldwide field operations. At HyperRoll, he will focus on accelerating product development and building the four-year-old company's market share and industry presence, the company said.
A Sybase spokeswoman said the company wishes Bealmear the best in his new position. Replacing him will be Thomas Volk, who had been serving as executive vice president of Sybase's infrastructure platform group.
HyperRoll, in Mountain View, Calif., makes software intended to speed up the performance of business intelligence and analytics applications.
