Security management vendor eIQnetworks announced this week at Interop 2005 an upgraded version of its security management software that now includes more tools to help IT managers deal with regulatory audits.
Network Security Analyzer (NSA) 4.2 includes log collection mechanisms, monitoring and reporting features, and analysis tools that could help pinpoint the source of a compliance issue. NSA 4.2 also includes pre-formatted reports for regulatory standards such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and Federal Information Security Management Act.
"IT managers are having to prove data integrity more during audits," says Vijay Basani, CEO of Acton, Mass.-based eIQnetworks. "The bare minimum for compliance hasn't been well-defined and until it is IT managers need to follow appropriate processes and store log data."
The software, which runs on Windows servers, uses syslog collection techniques and APIs to build links into systems and gather data across security and network devices. The product also includes compliance reports custom-designed to meet multiple regulatory auditor requirements. Log data can be stored in any type of storage device, the company says.
The company competes with the likes of Network Intelligence, e-Security, netForensics and Open Service.
NSA 4.2 is available now, and priced from $900 per device, with volume discounts available.
