Integration vendor Iona last week said it would introduce an open source Java Enterprise Service Bus designed to help companies
integrate applications. The Celtix project is being hosted by the ObjectWeb open source community, and an initial release
of Celtix will come before year-end. The company hopes Celtix will help foster corporate adoption of service-oriented architectures.
Celtix will support the Java Business Integration specification, Web Services Definition Language, Web Services Reliable Messaging,
Java Messaging Service, Simple Object Access Protocol and XML.
Avatier last week released the Avatier Telephone Password Reset Suite, the third module in its Avatier Identity Management
Server platform. The telephone password options enforce internal security policies for secure password selection and include
user identity verification, logging and reporting of all password changes so companies can track changes for regulatory compliance.
The module costs $6 per user.
Human resources management software maker Authoria last week said it will acquire Hire.com, a developer of recruiting management
software. Financial terms of the all-stock deal were not disclosed. Hire.com's flagship product is HireEnterprise, a suite
that helps employers with online recruiting, applicant tracking and staffing analytics. The 10-year-old company's customers
include Adobe, Prudential Financial and Royal Caribbean Cruises. Authoria plans to rename the software Authoria Hire Advisor
and incorporate it into its broader human resources software portfolio. Adding sourcing and recruiting software will extend
the features of Authoria's offerings, which include compensation, performance and employee communication management applications.
