Management vendors at Interop (all the headlines from the show) will be looking to help companies address compliance requirements with automated tools.
LogLogic plans to announce a version of its compliance suite for data regulated by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) standard. The suite, priced starting at $9,999 and available now, collects logs generated by credit card transactions and creates reports and alerts based on the data, company officials say. These reports help companies ensure and prove that they are in compliance with PCI, a standard developed by credit card issuers to protect credit card information that includes detailed technical requirements.
In the same vein, Internet Security Systems will at Interop announce Log Management Service as part of its expanded managed services offerings. The subscription-based service would help customers aggregate and archive data from any operating system or application that outputs logs in a text-based format, ISS says, and helps them keep up with compliance requirements.
ISS configures customer networks to send log data back to ISS' data center, eliminating the need for customers to install software or distribute agents for monitoring purposes. Using this service, customers can either connect to ISS' Virtual Security Operations Center portal with a user ID and password or opt for a stronger level of authentication with an RSA token. ISS would alert on events that need further attention, take automated actions and generate reports on the data collected. Set for general availability Aug. 1, ISS says the company has yet to pin down exact pricing.
