Cogent expands network

Cogent Communications Monday announced that it is expanding its network in North America and Europe.

The ISP is now offering is Ultra-High Bandwidth Internet access services in Phoenix, Buffalo, NY and Milan Italy. These are new geographic markets for the service provider.

In 60 days, Cogent says it will also expand its service reach to Zurich, Switzerland and Montreal, Canada. The ISP is offering one month of free Internet access service in these markets.

With these new markets Cogent now offers dedicated Internet access services in 95 markets in 14 countries. To see if the ISP offers service in an area of interest click here.

Cogent says it has also beefed-up its transatlantic capacity with 10 Gigabits of fiber-optic undersea capacity. The ISP now has a total of 50 Gigabits of capacity across five diverse routes, the service provider says.
