IPLocks Monday released an upgraded version of its database security software. The new version adds features designed to help enterprises stay in compliance with regulatory initiatives such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Based in San Jose, Calif., IPLocks provides tools that protect databases from unauthorized and inappropriate use in violation of corporate security and privacy policies. Its Database Security and Compliance Solution analyzes user behavior, scans for vulnerabilities and provides a compliance audit analysis. In Version 6.0, the software maker bundled report templates and a custom report engine designed to consolidate and extract SOX-related data.
"The majority of financial processes are automated within financial software, and a database is at the heart of these systems," said Akio Sakamoto, CEO and cofounder of IPLocks, in a statement. IPLocks 6.0 helps companies sustain compliance, according to Sakamoto. "Continuous monitoring of key controls allows companies to identify issues throughout the year, enabling quick resolution and reducing expensive, time-consuming mitigation procedures," he said.
Also new to IPLocks 6.0 are performance and usability upgrades including an audit trail filter and SQL capture filter for simplified product administration in high-transaction environments. New rule-chaining features are aimed at streamlining automated responses to suspicious activities and terminating sessions in conjunction with other enterprise workflow and ticketing systems.
IPLocks also bolstered its support for IBM's WebSphere and DB2 Universal Database to take advantage of DB2 performance enhancements.
Privately-held IPLocks closed a $4.4 million round of funding in August, following an $11 million Series D round of funding closed in June.
