Covelight Systems and Coral8 are putting together their respective event-processing technologies to help companies design and deploy time-sensitive applications, such as fraud detection, insider misconduct and performance monitoring.
The two vendors Tuesday plan to announce an alliance to deliver an integrated platform for processing transactional events in real time.
Covelight specializes in combating online fraud and identity theft. Its FraudProbe appliance captures transactional data in real time, including user identity and session information, and filters out content that is nonessential to detection and analytics systems.
Coral8's Complex Event Processing (CEP) Engine is analytical software that pores through information collected from systems, databases and applications in real time and looks for events that deviate from expected conditions. It uses embedded business rules to determine how to respond to threats and opportunities.
As part of their partnership, Covelight and Coral8 will develop an adapter that links Covelight's FraudProbe and the Coral8 CEP Engine. FraudProbe will capture the raw application traffic, transform it into meaningful events, and feed the data into Coral8's analytic engine. The Coral8 CEP engine will do the correlation and analysis in real-time, according to customizable queries.
Applications developed on the combined platform require no integration with applications or production servers, the vendors say. The Coral8-Covelight FraudProbe adapter and integrated platform is due to be available in November.
